Lagos Commercial Private Boat Workers Congratulate Oluwadamilola Emmanuel on his Appointment as Special Adviser on Blue Economy

The Lagos Commercial Private Boat District arm of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria has congratulated Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel on his recent appointment as Special Adviser on Blue Economy to the Governor of Lagos State

Mr. Emmanuel, who served as the General Manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), has been elevated to this new strategic position to drive the state’s blue economy initiatives.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Comrade Paul Ngwan, Chairman of the Lagos Commercial Private Boat District, described the appointment as well-deserved and timely, noting Emmanuel’s track record in transforming Lagos waterways.

 

“We at the Lagos Commercial Private Boat District of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria heartily congratulate Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel on this well-earned appointment,” Comrade Ngwan stated. “His exemplary leadership at LASWA has brought remarkable improvements to water transportation in Lagos State.”

The union chairman expressed confidence that Emmanuel’s wealth of experience in maritime administration would greatly benefit the state’s blue economy agenda. “Mr. Emmanuel has consistently demonstrated commitment to safety, efficiency, and the welfare of stakeholders in the maritime sector. We believe he will bring the same dedication to his new role,” Ngwan added.

Lagos State with its extensive coastline and waterways, has positioned the blue economy which encompasses sustainable use of these water resources, as a critical component of its economic development strategy.

Comrade Ngwan assured the new Special Adviser of the union’s continued support and cooperation in advancing policies that would benefit both the maritime industry and the people of Lagos State.

“We look forward to working closely with Mr. Emmanuel in his new capacity to ensure that the blue economy initiatives translate into tangible benefits for our members and all stakeholders in the water transportation sector,” the chairman concluded.

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria has been a key partner in regulating and improving standards in Lagos State’s thriving waterways transportation sector, which serves thousands of commuters daily across various routes.
